Staff Development Training Workshops


Our interactive workshops are researched-based using proven strategies and designed with educator experiences to promote school readiness and improved learning outcomes of young children. These high quality professional development programs will help improve the knowledge and skills of early childhood educators in day cares, Head Start, and other early childhood programs. 



"Building Math Brains in Early Learning"

Focus Development Years: 3 - 6 (Presented in comprehensive 3 year format or performed as a two year focus session)

This workshop is designed to give Daycare Caregivers and other Educators a concrete understanding of the importance of early childhood math concepts and the major educational elements required to begin and monitor the learning process at home. This workshop will explain and model the best strategies grounded in state standards for communicating numbers and number sense skill builders from trainers to parents


"Critical Thinking & Problem Solving"

Teaching children how to think is just as important as what they think! Attending this workshop will help educators understand the impact critical thinking and the ability to identify and problem solve has in the early stages of development. You will learn how to interweave these skills into everyday lessons in each major academic strand. 


Breaking the Code: Exploring the Impact of Language on Literacy Development (1-5 year olds)

This workshop is designed to give Home Visitation Staff a concrete understanding of the importance of early childhood literacy and the major educational elements required to begin and monitor the learning process at home. This workshop will explain and model the best strategies grounded in state standards for communicating reading and math skill builders from trainers to parents. In post evaluations of one literacy workshop performed for Head Start, written staff evaluations indicated “very interactive and informative,” and “one of the best workshops I attended.”

 

Breaking the Phonics Code

With the three through five year olds in mind, this workshop is designed to provide a
concrete understanding of early childhood literacy and the major educational elements required for successful kindergarten transition. We will explore and model the best strategies grounded in state standards for language communication and how it enhances reading. This workshop also provides lesson planning techniques and objectives to meet academic learning objectives.
